A Culture, A Vibration - Trap Music

“Trap Music is a culture, A Vibration. It's an emotion & That is why people love it because they can feel it”

Ever wondered where TRAP MUSIC originated from? OR How the city of Atlanta and the Essence of the Trap Lifestyle influenced the genre? T.I’s Trap Music Museum (creates to commemorate his 15 year anniversary of his second studio album, Trap Muzik) will transport you into that realm.

This past Sunday, I went to the Trap Music Museum, a “hybrid” art gallery with tons of interactive exhibits which showcased the realism, depth, and emotion of symbolic sounds, lifestyles, and culture within the Trap Music foundations in the ATL. Through art and installations influenced by a myriad of Trap geniuses in the game, this museum explores how the city of Atlanta has influenced the genre. It also provides a greater sense of cultural togetherness from the perspective of the artists who were raised by the essence of the trap lifestyle.

Although the museum does not provide extensive descriptions of every single exhibit, that is perfectly ok. In fact, I enjoyed the museum in its simplicity to explain complex terms in very minute ways. Therefore, this museum focuses on recreating the essence from which the audience is able to interact, apply and extract their own meaning and experiences. There were even some installations involve performance art which is super cool and adds another level of simulative reality.

Gramma & I holding down the Bando…. “As long as the rent getting paid, she doesn’t care what goes on within the walls of the house”.

As you walk through the performance space, you will find many people snapping photos of/ or with everything in the space. I pretty much walked through the museum twice in order to ensure that I not only finished reading and absorbing the descriptions but for but took pictures of the installations. I did gain a new appreciation for Trap Music and it’s crucial meaning in our culture,

I have incorporated some details about the Museum here, in case you are curious, but the most updated information is found directly on the website. So, do not blame me if this information leads you astray.

The Museum also incorporates an Escape Room into its operation. We didn’t have an opportunity to participate, but that seems like a fun thing to do next time. Especially since the cost includes entry into the museum as well!

Address: 630 Travis St NW. Atlanta, GA 30318
